That did the trick, Gary. You put a smile on my face, I'll tell ya. QP Setup and QP Meta work now.

I had four ctl3d.dll files in all, and renamed the ones not in QPPLUS2. Setup still didn't work. I didn't find any ctl3dv2.dll files. There were four bwcc.dll files, and none in QPPLUS2 but one in QPDEMO. Strangely, when I renamed all but the one in QPDEMO, the Setup and Metastock applications in QPPLUS2 worked, without rebooting. QPDEMO and QPPLUS2 are separate directories in my C drive, of course, so I don't know why this did the trick.

I assume the renamed dll files won't affect the other programs. For example, there was one in First AID 95.
