IGNITION POINT ANNOUNCES A $2.86M AWARD FOR A PRIVATE FIBER OPTIC NETWORK

Ignition Point Technologies Corp. has been granted a contract award totalling $2.86-million for the construction and maintenance of a private fibre optic network. The network will interconnect 48 buildings with a secure high-speed connection that is anticipated to cost less than the existing current service. The network will be built using an innovative method of deploying fibre optics in the last mile developed and commercialized by TeraSpan Networks Inc., a subsidiary of Ignition Point.

TeraSpan has deployed private fibre optic networks in seven countries for a wide variety of businesses, governments and telecom service providers.

Commenting on the award Ignition Point's chief executive officer Peter van der Gracht said: "This is the largest award we've received and further demonstrates the growing trend to private and secure network ownership by private, health care and government organizations. Additionally, with this order, TeraSpan will set a record for new sales bookings in the quarter."
