I don't think that my opinions would be classified as conservative. As I said I am certainly left of the center mark.

But on welfare, people should not be able to get on the dole and stay on the dole. It shoudl be temporary assistance. They should work or go to school and strive to get back on their feet. If not, cut them off.

On property rights I think that in some cases environmentalist have gone to far.

Don't get me started on the permitting process to build a shed on your own land.

I think their is a middle road that will serve everyone better than what you find on either extreme.

Dems are slammed for thinking that you can just throw more money at a problem. I'd slam everyone for not actually taking the time think through a problem and craft a truly brilliant piece of legislation. Were the framers of the constitution so much smarter than we are today? When was the last time someone came up with an idea that, dspite problems, works as well as the constitution has for all these years? I think politicians have gotten fat and lazy, it's almost like they are living on the dole, to really tackle anything the right way.
