As is the case elsewhere on the globe all cities are equal but some are more equal than others. Hong Kong, Sydney, Taos, London, and Vail all have needs(taxes) to reflect their higher but equal status. <g>
In all likelihood these cities have had larger increases in their real estate valuations than those geographically located five hundred miles from them.
I mention this because in the more affluent enclaves of America, tax bills arrive in the October/November time-frame, announcing new taxes on “what YOU paid for the house” and NOT what it was being taxed at when it’s valuation was just a wee bit less, give or take fifty purrr centum.
(With all due respect to Eliot this proves that April is not the cruelest month. Nor should one confuse this gentleman with the other Elliott who gave us curds and WAVES.)
I am anticipating that for the new owner this will be the only time in his life when rugs rather than wooden floors would have been preferable for the anticipated fainting spell. Increases in taxes bring with it increases in home insurance and it’s unlikely that State coffers will roll back taxes with the “US” of A being somewhat preoccupied with its US needs “here ‘n a racket.”

FNM has been a study of “garbage in and garbage out.” It’s predictable that it will now defy gravity and join Lazarus in rising from the d….
The DCB(dead cat bounce) awaits all of you TA people.
And rest assured that before it’s all over

(2) the P.M. crowd will be once again predicting either the “Great Demise"(GM) or the “Second Coming.” The latter will be brought to you by those who voted for the man at the helm in “one naSHUN under god.”
(3) someone in the government will acknowledge that a hurricane (or a monsoon if you are left of US) is a WMD without radiation. Since we have shown our inability to “handle” the former it is unlikely that we will be able to handle…
