Iraq war leaves Americans skeptical of force: poll 1 hour, 14 minutes ago The war in Iraq has left Americans skeptical about the use of military force as a tool to spread democracy, according to a poll released on Thursday. Assuming that Bush invaded Iraq with good intentions, why people believe violent intent will lead to enlightenment is beyond me. Its one thing to use force to defend yourself against a marauding tyrant like Hitler. Its another to instigate a war under false pretenses. Its no surprise to me that Bush's war has lead to disaster. I can only hope that at least some Americans have learned their lesson.
