- Swiss PTT/Ascom/Orckit cooperation
- Telecom Italia/Orckit seems solid. note that "Orckit's ADSL central office line card is shown in Italtel's ATM-based DSLAM"...interesting...need to sort these relationships out, but believe Italtel is no longer synonomous with Telecom Italia...only 50% owned by Stet (including Telecom Italia) with the other 50% owned by Siemans AG Group...
- France Telecom/Orckit are at least on speaking terms...co-operating on a demonstration of ATM to the home...
- Fujitsu/Orckit appear to be taking at least some of the show on the road (beyond North America)...

Orckit's ADSL Systems Demonstrated in Three Telecom Operators'
Booths at Telecom Inter@ctive 97, Geneva

GENEVA, Sept. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Orckit Communications' (Nasdaq:ORCTF) ADSL systems are being demonstrated at the Telecom Inter@ctive show-stands of three European telecommunications carriers: France Telecom, Telecom Italia and Swiss PTT.

In Swiss PTT's booth (#1570) Orckit's FastInternet ADSL system is being demonstrated by Ascom, with a live ADSL line connecting their booth to Orckit's. Visitors can download heavy Internet files in just seconds over a regular telephone line at
8 Mbps.

Telecom Italia's booth (#1360) also hosts Orckit's ADSL equipment in its Video-on-Demand demonstration. Orckit's ADSL central office line card is shown in Italtel's ATM-based DSLAM (Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer), which is connected via Orckit's ADSL customer premises equipment to a set-top box and television.

In a re-creation of their CAMILLE Project, taking place in Lannion, France Telecom (2260) is demonstrating Orckit's ADSL modem for fast Internet access and interactive multimedia transmitted by ATM-to-the-home.

Orckit and Fujitsu Ltd. (1370) are also demonstrating desktop video- conferencing and small office applications over a live ADSL hook-up between their booths...."
