"What is the reason for it? There was nothing to accomplish from it"

You have nothing to support that contention. You are surely wrong. The world is fucking SCREAMING at you that we need to get past living with the values of primitive doctrines kept alive by church power mongers. But YOU see no road to betterment?

And that I should seek a better world you find feckless and even disgusting. {Perhaps your own agendas are opaque to you)?

I simply don't see the kind of rage you seem to display as being a tool to better the world. Also you seem to attribute a lot of emotion to others that simply does not exist. I said I didn't understand the rage you seem to be displaying, to not understand something doesn't mean it is found to be anything other than someplace beyond comprehension......Quite frankly your obsessions seem to spring from the same source as that of Born Again Christians.......

Someone once said that the world would never be free until the last king was strangled by the entrails of the last priest. I think it was Erasmus, but who cares?

The point is that you think the open discussions of primitive religions (always with direct quotes, btw) has "nothing to accomplish from it"

Discussions will accomplish much. Rage accomplishes nothing.

"surely you jest. I am surely not a fanatic"

Isn't that what I ventured?

It is indeed, although I think that the fanatic label is not one you should be tossing around lightly.

"I have nothing to do with the second world war, and certainly with the British Government...."

You miss the point. I was referring to your remark that:

"I was simply taught not to disparage another persons beliefs"

I have learned that cruel, stupid, and ignorant beliefs OUGHT to be disparaged, Mr. Chamberlain. This has nothing to do with WW11, Mr. Chamberlain. You either stand up for something or you do not. I disparage Dahmler's beliefs and I disparage a lot of beliefs. You pretend you do and don't have any beliefs. Well...what about rape? Do you disparage THAT belief?? What about the religious belief of polygamy? You must disparage something at your age, huh? "WHAT" We walk in shit and it is all the same??

I most certainly do not believe in Rape, and eating other people does seem a tad outre, but they are not exactly beliefs, are they. As for polygamy, well why any woman would consider more than one husband is beyond me, and I think men having a number of wives might make the wives work easier, and give the women sane conversation at dinner. So I have utterly no objection to polyamory, although it is not a practice I would choose for myself.

Religious values are just values. We have had a lot of wars to defend values. So how in the Hell do you tell this thread that "I was simply taught not to disparage another persons beliefs"??

Our kids are disparaging other beliefs right now in a hundred or so countries in the world, for Christ's sake. They may not always be right--but surely to Christ they are NOT all wrong??!!

Well, at the risk of being offensive, many of the places udergoing conflict would have had fewer problems if the US wasn't so ham handed in it's diplomatic efforts. Supporting the Shah was a disaster, supporting Saddam was a collosal error, and American policy in Israel has been a text book case of what not to do. Not that I think the Israeli's are wrong, but I think without the US constantly trying to manipulate niceness, the Israeli's would be living in Israel in peace by now.

The Iraqi problem should have been a UN effort. The problem that UN Officials were simply making too much money under the table to actually do their jobs, and the French and Russian Governments had too much money to lose to allow the UN to go in is something that Americans seem to ignore. If the US were to withdraw tomorrow, they would lose that supply of oil. Watch and see how well Democrats react to that little problem.

"What is the reason for it? There was nothing to accomplish from it,"

I guess I could buy a new tie and really throw a f-ck into the world. HA! I accomplish more than you know!

Simple education, Lad, works wonders! Why would you resent and oppose obvious facts? That is another story! Hopefully you will understand it some day...

Any teacher who finds in necessary to rant and rage and attempt to destroy her opponents will achieve little. A softer gentler path will often provide the desired results....
