ChyTV Provides Emergency Response & Information Network With Image Engine
30th September, 2005 Chyron Corporation's ChyTV Group has provided to ERIN TV (Emergency Response and Information Network), formerly launched as KIN TV (Katrina Information Network), several ChyTV Video Information Display Systems for the purpose of broadcasting emergency information and alerts.
Currently in use displaying an extensive list of Hurricane Katrina survivors to aid in re-uniting families, ERIN TV also displays the phone numbers and websites of various relief agencies and other organizations aimed at rebuilding. ERIN TV is produced by Flying Colors Broadcasts, Inc. and can be seen free of charge on DISH Network, channel 206. The video is also being streamed live.
ChyTV is being utilized to crawl the names of survivors across the bottom of the screen while vital contact information is being sequenced through on the main area of the screen. "ChyTV was a great fit for us to be able to launch the ERIN TV channel in just several days following Hurricane Katrina," says Flying Colors' Principal and leader of Interactive Services, Troy Hanford. "ChyTV's hardware and software has proven flexible and robust enough to go live 24/7 with large amounts of quickly changing data."
"We're grateful for the opportunity to be able to play some small role in helping hurricane survivors," states Jim Altemose, Chyron's Director of ChyTV Product Development. "With many thousands of names, and numerous agencies, Flying Colors' application illustrates how ChyTV can readily be adapted for these types of vital situations."
ChyTV has the ability to squeeze back the external video source and position the information around a video window, superimpose the graphics over full screen video or provide full screen video messages. In addition, ChyTV can provide dynamic messages such as schedules, general information, promotional items and entertainment. Alert messages can automatically be accessed via alarm systems or can be updated in real-time. |
