Ted, the crime in Clinton's case was sheer perjury. High-profile celebrities like Martha Stewart and Lil' Kim have to serve jail time for perjury, but Clinton gets away with it by saying, "It all depends on what your definition of 'is' is." As for campaign finance laws, like I said before, they're just made to be broken. No matter how many laws are written, politicians will always find ways around them. The 527 groups like MoveOn.org is a great example. All they have to do is claim to be non-partisan and they're covered legally, even though absolutely no one believes it in real life. In other words, it's all a political game. This is NOT the same as laws against murder, because that's truly an issue of morality and societal order. Not so with campaign finance laws. On the surface, they're intended to "level the playing field," but only idiots believe that those laws even come close. Even the sponsors of such laws are probably snickering and winking as they pass them. All that, and I didn't even defend what DeLay did, if he even did commit a crime. Tenchusatsu
