Obviously the sidebar...but it's about race. Bennett's remarks are the drivel of a conservative ideologue...a duplicitous one at that (is there another kind?). Even if what he meant was as you say, he helps perpetuate the notion that blacks are more likely to be criminals...rather than the more refined point, which is that their socio-economic standing is what makes them more likely to commit crimes. From his defense, i gather he (or you) still doesn't get the distinction nor the damage careless remarks like his make to entire segments of the population. He adds nicely to the damage conservative radio has been doing to American society.
