I think we should have tradable citizenships and sell 20,000 a year to the top qualified bidders. Or maybe 10,000. The olde idea of everyone being patriotic state serfs, owned by the state, disposable by the state, is unfit for the 21st century global village. People born in NZ and at least 25 years old should be given a free tradable citizenship. Which they could sell and leave the country! They might get US$1 million. With such a system, they would be selling themselves short, as pretty soon, governments would NOT be doing anything which reduced the value of a citizenship as they would be voted out immediately. Only citizens could vote. Not residents. Mqurice
