Ted:

It is really not important to me if the rich care about me. I am responsible for myself, and for my own journey to heaven. You are responsible for yourself. If I can help others see the light and they find their way to Christ (or back to Christ) a little faster, then my life will be fulfilled.

Ecclesiastes 1
"1:9 That which has been, is that which is to be, and that which has been done, is that which will be done, and there is no new thing under the sun.

1:10 Is there anything of which men say, See, this is new? It has been in the old time which was before us.

1:11 There is no memory of those who have gone before, and of those who come after there will be no memory for those who are still to come after them."

Any person who wishes to behave as Paris Hilton does, may if they have the resources. The fact that she was raised by indulgent parents and given a huge trust fund was no favor to her. Very few trust fund wealthy are models of humanity at her age. Some wise parents do not drop a fortune in their kids laps at the age of majority. On the other hand she is spending money like it is water, and stimulating the economy. She is doing some good.

This is a very good post that addresses your concerns about personal responsibility:
