Amex: ALY (Allis Chalmers Energy) - $12.00

Fasten your seatbelts on this one - the time seems ripe. We have new company here ! Just learnt that one of the best performing fund managers recnetly, Joe Dancy of LSGIfund (www.lsgifund.com) started covering Allis Chalmers energy and took it up in his portfolio.

Seems that Mr. Dancy must have liked the presentation, ALY's CEO did at that recenty SMH growth conference recently.

My own view is that ALY should be a major "hurricane beneficiary" also as much of their services are related to WORKOVER and PRODUCTION SERVICES, which are growing faster than the rig count..

Enough of my commentary, here's Joe Dancy's take on the company (www.lsgifund.com) :

ALLIS-CHALMERS ENERGY INC. (ALY - $11.79) provides drilling and oil field services to exploration companies operating primarily in the Western U.S. Through its various divisions the company installs casing and tubing, provides drilling and workover services, and operates a fleet of more than 80 compressors used for oil and gas well production enhancement and completion.

The company acquired Safco-Oil Field Products in 2004. Revenues grew 76% over the last four quarters, and the firm has a market capitalization of just under $150 million. From a technical standpoint the stock has a 12 month relative strength of 97 (it outperformed 97% of the firms in our database). With elevated energy prices, oil and gas service companies should deliver impressive revenue and earnings growth over the next year.
