Six rural carriers have signed on to use Intrado's wireless E911
solutions to enable compliance with Phase I and Phase II E911
requirements. Terms of the agreements were not disclosed.

The new clients being added to Intrado's roster include WestLink
Communications, Nex-Tech Wireless, Edge Wireless, Chariton Valley
Wireless, Cellcom of Wisconsin and Appalachian Wireless.

Each of the wireless carriers has purchased a combination of Phase I
and Phase II E911 services, Intrado says. Some of the carriers also
are investing in position determination entity (PDE) services, but
Intrado did not specify which ones.

Intrado unveiled its Mobile Positioning Center and Gateway Mobile
Location Center in August 2002. The systems are designed to ensure a
carrier can gain access to the United States' dedicated wireline 911
network when a wireless emergency call is placed, according to the
company.

In August the company announced its wireless 911 call routing systems
have processed more than 50 million emergency calls placed from
wireless handsets in the last three years.

Intrado recently tapped Sonus Networks' technology to support the
delivery of VoIP E911 calls using the Intrado V9-1-1 Mobility Service.
Under the terms of the agreement announced in July, Sonus is tasked
with managing traffic between VoIP networks, offering carriers both
security and point-of-demarcation functionality critical to delivering
emergency services.
