Doug: I take it that you double-clicked on the Internet Downloader icon when you were on line and nothing happened. You didn't make the mistake I made and go to QP's Web site and then subscription files, did you? Sorry if this seems like a stupefyingly dumb question -- I've forgotten what you wrote about the problem your program had in connecting. What exactly happens when you click on the Internet Downloader icon? Do you get an error message? You filled out everything in QP Setup, right? I'm concerned about your plight, because I think we have similar computers, judging from your description of yours. Did you check for duplicated dll files, as Gary prescribed for my problems with Setup?
I've been amusing myself with lists tonight. The list spreadsheet window is great, but it still seems a little rough around the edges. I can't close it with the "x" at the upper right hand corner, for example, and I can't resize it. Sometimes the spreadsheet seems to come up with a limited number of rows, too -- say, around 21. And when I try to add a row, it deletes a previous row. But it doesn't always do this -- it seems a bit temperamental. Sometimes the spreadsheet comes up with lots of rows, but reduces the number as I add symbols. I had to trick it by putting in a symbol at the end, in row 500, to keep the spreadsheet long. I wish there were an easier way to import a whole list of stocks into the spreadsheet, too. My beta came with only three lists, too -- three Dow lists. I moved an SP list into the directory from the Demo. I wonder if some files were left out.
Also, there was no QP Disp help file when I clicked on Help in charts display. I moved the QP Disp help file over from the Demo.
I've been looking into the scans, too. There's even a Brookins' scan. Henry -- you're famous! It's based on his beloved 9- and 21-day exponential moving averages, of course. I can see in the scans the work of all the resident technical analysts here.
