John: Sally has been proven again and again that she sucks . Like Gore, her political career will soon come to an end, IMHO.

The clear and present danger is: The government sector will become the biggest bagholder because if Y2K companies can take home $1.00 per LOC, why should they work for peanuts for Uncle Sam? I know of one company now has the luxury to pick and choose contracts while pissing on the State of Florida. I know of one BIG consulting firm which is fully booked until year 2001. Hey, what about the Department of Defense? With 20% of their codes in Ada, 50% in 14 different versions of COBOL, 20% in BAL, 5% in obscure (and obcene) languages and 5% source codes missing or in the wrong versions. Do you honestly think that they'll have a chance to come clean? Therefore, the danger of DEFCON activation is real. The threat of nuclear mishaps is also real. Need I say more?

I see unbelievable price explosions for all Y2K issues in 1998. Pigs will fly. PE multiple in triple digits will be the norm, not the exception. Y2K bears will disappear or be converted to bulls at the height of the hysteria. Sally will be replaced by General Powell who will order his troops to exterminate the bug using automatic weapons (Have you ever tried shooting flies with AK-47?). Mad Monk will make headlines in the tabloids by donating his entire Y2K fortune to the Physics Department of MIT which is THE pioneer in the reaseach of the sex life of a sub-atomic particle.

Regards,
Mad Monk

PS. The above numbers are obtained from the MonksterNet. IMHO, DoD will NOT challenge these numbers because as of today, they don't even know their own inventory of programs.
