You have poor reading comprehension. It is extremely clear what they are saying. It says the government WILL MAKE NO LAW respecting AN ESTABLISHMENT of RELIGION. AN is the key world. "AN ESTABLISHMENT OF RELIGION" means any religion. eg. The Government will have nothing to do with Religion. The Supreme Court agrees with me. Your it sounds like the Government can't establish a church is as bad as Thomas.
