(I also posted this on ASND NEWS ONLY, this thread seems to be a bit more active though, while also sticking to substance.)

I am looking at the recent carnage and am seriously considering buying. However, I don't have a strong networking background and find it hard to differentiate the players in this sector (perhaps further consolidation is inevitable). In contrast, some of my other stocks like EMC and ORCL are clear leaders in their field, and it is much easier to recognize their dominance. As a result, I didn't scoop up any of the networkers in April when they all got killed.

Could some kind soul enlighten me on ASND's strengths and what sectors they dominate, and which they trail? Is it correct to say that the Big 3 are now CSCO, COMS/USRX, and ASND/CSCC? Bay and CS seem to have management problems or other things perenially holding them back.

Also, what do you guys think of ASND's management? I've heard CSCO's Chambers speak a few times and he seems very good, and of course his company's performance reinforces that impression.

Thanks in advance

(Things get interesting when a value investor starts looking at the networkers :)
