I think the hearings will be very interesting, mainly because she has been on both the sides. She has supported gay marriage but she belongs to a church group which is anti-abortion and against gay marriage. She grew up as a registered Democrat but then switched to a registered Republican, probably because of Bush's influence I think.

And then during Roberts' hearing, she spent more than an hour talking to Roberts from the parking lot of her church in Texas. She did so right in the middle of the service. For me that is too close for comfort if she gets confirmed. It tells me that she and Roberts may vote the same way on most issues.
