Avaya May Have 30%-50% Upside To Market In Near Term
Ed Lin, 10.05.05, 9:48 AM ET

Avaya

SG Cowen said Avaya (nyse: AV - news - people ) "is on track to meet our above-consensus estimates for the fiscal fourth quarter," excluding the dilution of 1 cent per share from the acquisition of Nimcat.

SG Cowen said, "Not only has the company started to improve its North American execution, but Tenovis seems to be track in terms of both integration and execution. Finally, new products targeting branch offices and enterprise mobility should drive continued growth."

Avaya shares could outperform the market by 30% to 50% over the next 12 months, the research firm said.

The firm said its checks showed that Avaya's fiscal fourth quarter ended September will show upside to a Thomson First Call consensus estimate for earnings of 17 cents per share on $1.28 billion in revenue. "We have heard that the quarter was linear, little push at the end of the quarter, and Avaya had won several large managed services contracts," SG Cowen said.

SG Cowen expects Avaya to earn 19 cents per share on revenue of $1.30 billion in the fiscal fourth quarter.
