Will has been living in his intellectual high and mighty house for too long. I remember him saying it was often good when few people voted, because, so many people are ignorant of politics and the world around them (or words to that effect).

We should select more Judge Judy types for the high court and less intellectuals who get caught up in their own twisted logic strains to maintain their predetermined entrenched positions.

The best we can hope for is Ms. Meir possesses good judgement, listens to the arguments with an open mind, and is willing to study the constitution in regard to how the law should be applied to that particular case. It doesn't take a rocket-science who has spent 20 years reading Federalist papers to determine that. It takes good character, strong ethics, some smarts and good listening skills. And Ms. Meirs appears, at least on the surface, to have that.
