Ted, Japan hit China pretty hard. How was what they put Korea through worse?

CJ already gave a good explanation. But something else to consider is that many Westerners got to see first-hand what happened in China. I suspect Korea got less Western exposure at that time, which is why you hardly hear about it unless you directly ask a Korean person.

If only there was a book like "The Rape of Nanking" for Korea:
