There's intelligence and there's luck. Many in the stock markets have found, to their sorrow, that the difference is elusive and, one can be confused with the other.

The fact that lucky insects and trees exist doesn't mean nature isn't selecting for intelligence, which it obviously has done. It just means that intelligence isn't the only way to earn a living. Luck is just as good. Being in the right place at the right time, with the right DNA is good enough, even if completely lacking the right idea, or any idea at all.

A falling rock selecting the intelligent [or lucky] is the same as a female selecting the intelligent [or lucky] is the same in outcome and what is to say that a falling rock isn't as intelligent as a discriminating female. They are just neurons firing and rocks falling, according to the four forces of the apocalypse.

Given that falling rocks have created intelligence, they have got something going for them. Not that I'm promoting supernatural intelligent design via falling rocks, but the four forces of the apocalypse have obviously got a plan in mind, just as a DNA spiral has got a plan in mind, just waiting to be manifest.
