All of you see it only as the exercise of your religion. The point is freedom of religion. The reason to have a separation is to insure that no religion becomes the state religion which can lead to an abuse of power. If the state, with all of it's power, were to endorse one religion over another, there would be pressure on people to adhere to that religion in order to get what they need. It is so clear and easy for me to understand, but you see no problem as long as it's your ten commandments. How would you feel if it were statements from the Koran. And not the inflammatory ones that Watson is so fond of referring to. Besides there are plenty of inflammatory quotes you can pull form the bible. How about if we put the teachings of the Dali Lamma on govt buildings? Would you still feel strongly about the right to use religious writings within state institutions?
