OT -- If you relish playing the literati's party-pooper I'd suggest you snoop into Harry Potter's works and Ms JK Rowling: scholastic.com The official story --or rather, fairy tale-- is that Ms Rowling wrote it all from start to finish... I, however, suspect that she's to children books what Robert Ludlum was to the spy-thriller genre: a brand name. I think the whole Harry Potter series was fleshed out like a Hollywood movie --with a dozen screenwriters sharing the writing. Of course, to admit to the "industrial" writing of Harry Potter would spoil the magic, eh? Better to tell the kids about a Cinderella-teacher-turned-bestseller who dreamt it all up on her own... and leave the 1,000-page contracts, the ghostwriters, and the financial and non-disclosure clauses to the lawyers.
