The immediate problem for the reconstruction will be finding housing for the workers who will be doing the work. The stock of available, i.e., affordable and undamaged, housing in Orleans Parish and in the West Bank of Jefferson Parish is tiny.

This is probably the biggest immediate problem. If it is not resolved quickly, the reconstruction will be extremely slow. The artisans who were an essential part of NO's spirit will end up elsewhere.

Clinton made a point of this yesterday. He's absolutely right.
