New Screen TV Targets 50 Million Households
ORLANDO, Fla., Oct 06, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Vision Works Media Group, Inc. (PINK SHEETS: VWKM) and wholly owned subsidiary New Screen Television, Inc. have announced a long-term goal of 50 million subscribing households. Company executives have returned from Las Vegas and the "fiber-to-the-home" FTTH 2005 Conference where they were discussing future distribution opportunities. New Screen TV has signed a distribution agreement with Houston, Texas-based Optical Entertainment Network (OEN) www.4fiber.tv. OEN has announced their plans to deploy fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) to 1,600,000 households in Houston, Texas, the 10th largest television market in the U.S. New Screen TV will be included in the basic package lineup.
"As part of OEN's basic TV package, New Screen TV will receive revenues from every subscriber on a monthly basis," said Rick Erikson, New Screen TV's General Manager. "We are excited that as OEN grows into new markets, we will grow with them in those markets."
New Screen Television, Inc. started as an Orlando, Florida-based broadcasting company that still transmits its television service, New Screen TV, to viewers over-the-air via WRCF-TV Channel 29 Orlando. New Screen TV is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
FISION(TM) is the OEN service that will deliver Video, Internet and Voice, a convergence that consumers have anticipated for years. FISION will deliver over 300 video channels including popular networks such as DISCOVERY, USA, SCI-FI and SHOWTIME, 50-plus channels of High Definition Television (HDTV), Video-on-Demand (VOD) and original and specialty programming. In addition, FISION will deliver Internet connectivity at unprecedented speeds of 10 Mbps symmetrical (equivalent to eight times T1 speed) per subscriber. FISION will also provide IP Voice services including local and long distance services, to deliver on the promise of true convergence from one company.
