Z, Doesn't the post you're responding to show statistics which refute that statement? Not really. Often people trying to get off of welfare have a very hard time holding down a job. The reasons are wide and varied: job is too hard, job is too menial, manager is a jerk, can't do dope on the job, etc. Your comments are anecdotal. They are what you want to believe is happening out there. You have concluded in a typical immigrant's bias that the only good poor people out there are Korean emigrés. But I've got news for you.........no Korean in this country has had to endure the kind of discrimination the black people have had to endure. That's a powerful statement considering that Koreans have faced a good amount of discrimination. But I understand......its a lot easier for you to believe blacks are a cross the Korean population must endure. Given these "inconveniences," many would choose not to work and get paid for it, even if the pay is half that of a full-time minimum wage job. This is not to say that these people should be judged as "slackers" and left to rot. But it does point out how welfare cannot solve the core problems. The facts say otherwise. You are wrong. ted
