Re: "Zell claimed Kerry voted against every weapons system we need in the War On Terror, yet their voting records were identical on military expenditures."

Got a link on that? LOL.

Zell didn't say Kerry voted against certain weapons systems, he said Kerry opposed them. Kerry did, Zell was correct.

"Simply stated, there are savings that can be made in the defense budget. The administration has requested about $25.5 billion over the next 5 years for the B-2 Stealth bomber. The Congressional Budget Office has estimated that the total cost of the B-2 program will be $65 billion, or $860 million for each of the 75 planes the Air Force plans on buying. This would make the B-2 the most expensive strategic weapons system ever built. Notwithstanding the budget deficit and the large number of domestic problems confronting this country, the bottom line is that we do not need the B-2."

"These weapons became conversation topics at American dinner tables during the Iraq war, but candidate Kerry in 1984 said he would have voted to cancel many of them -- the B-1 bomber, B-2 stealth bomber, AH-64 Apache helicopter, Patriot missile, the F-15, F-14A and F-14D jets, the AV-8B Harrier jet, the Aegis air-defense cruiser, and the Trident missile system."
