07:12 AAPL Apple Computer opinion lowered to Neutral at SG Cowen (51.70 ) -Update- SG Cowen lowers their opinion on AAPL to neutral. While firm's survey scopes out a positive view of Mac share dynamics, share and "halo" findings are less positive than just 3 months ago. And, consumer PC buying plans turned decidedly more cautious, with respondents retrenching vs July tallies. While the survey still suggests that Apple's strategic shift to Intel will be fundamentally accretive for Mac mindshare, firm says that as we get closer to mid-CY06 (first Intel based Macs slated for then) post calendar YE Mac demand and transition execution may loom as closer-in challenges.
