Dale > In Malawi -- which has an HIV prevalence rate of about 24% -- about four million of its 11 million people are in need of urgent assistance.

>>Speaking at the opening of the Gauteng Aids Council conference in Johannesburg yesterday, Whiteside said HIV prevalence among women and among people between 20 and 24 years continued to increase, and 29% of South African women were infected.
