I agree with you on the biological definition of life and I respect your opinion.

However, I find it difficult to understand how so many who expressed similar views about the need to respect unborn life have little regard for life after birth. Tens of thousands, nearly 100,000 by some estimates, of innocent Iraqi civilians have been killed in a war started to remove a greater threat - WMD - a threat that appears more and more likely to have been fabricated.

50 million Americans do not have health insurance. I do not hear prolifers demanding that all Americans be given equal access to health care.

I often wonder what the prolife position will be when the next generation of anti-cancer drugs hits the markets. The costs of some drug treatments will be extraordinary... hundreds of thousands of dollars per year. If the patient cannot pay he dies? Even if the government steps in can we afford treatment for all? I doubt it.

I know you're going to accuse me of changing the subject, which I did - but I see murder in many forms. You see it in one and declare it evil. The other you say is justified. Another you choose to ignore.

Life is not that simple. We make life and death choices every day - which is why 60% of Americans support Roe v Wade, which is why the vast majority opposed govt intervention in the Schiavo case. They understand that the issues are far more complex than prolife forces care to admit.
