On the West Wing last weekend they were talking about the "Mommy" and "Daddy" parties. The "Mommy" party is the Democrats; supportive, helpful, loving. The "Daddy" party is the Republicans; protective, strong, aloof. That's the perception... regardless of the reality. Rove knows that... it's why they always play the fear card. That's scary but it would not surprise me if its very true. Its been said by others that Americans have a kind of innocence that they retain even into adulthood. Its why Europeans often think we are younger than we are. It may be time to get more mature. ted
