uw probably has the best insight on this. We had mixed units during Korea. Not so sure about Vietnam, though we obviously had "advisors" with SV units. I think the US ought to set up NCO/Officer schools in Iraq or even bring them to the US and take what ever time is needed to turn out excellent results.
As it is, I'd say over the next six months, the level one will go up dramatically, and level 2 probably double. It means the US can start pulling out in sufficient numbers to take care of the US midterm elections.
