Probably the first line of defense is avoidance. Avoid crowds, wear a mask (N-95 is probably overkill), practice good hygiene (frequent hand washing). I'd be very careful at public gatherings (Sports, parades, large parties) or maybe avoid them completely. I assume attendance for sporting events will be way off and movie theaters will get killed. I'll probably wear a mask to the gym or work out at home.

Work is a special problem (since most people have to work and many with the public).

Also, near the end of the 1918 outbreak, the country announced "all clear" and people stopped wearing masks at public events. This lead to another outbreak. So keep your vigilance for a few extra months after the all clear.
