The rightwing talking points are always irrelevant to the truth but they're being broadcast on 30,000 hours of talk radio a week in addition to cable and plain old broadcast media.

The rightwingers don't talk about the facts, they attack the messenger mostly (Wilson) and this time they're just pooh-poohing the importance of this situation. In the past, this brand of politicking has been stupidly successful but at least it's in the hands of the law instead of the voters.
