"I'm not so sure... people with out of body experiences supposedly sometimes 'see' their own bodies"

All such accounts are given by LIVING people! When the brain is heavily drugged or near death, it is unable to integrate the various compartments and to create coherency. When all sensory input is cut off, one is essentially without a body. One is in ones own brain.

In my dreams I have been able to leap over skyscrapers and soar down the other side. I remember one dream where I got up the courage after many attempts to go all the way to the top but then to land and stop. Going over and down into the void without landing (going down is different than going up) was an entirely more anxious matter. But I challenged my fears until I accomplished it.

Now I am not saying that we have definite proof that an OBE is just another form of dreaming. But dreams are mysterious and exist only in the mind. There is no reason to consider other mental phenomena as other than mental phenomena.

"Heaven?? Afterlife? Why speculate, we'll all find out soon enough"

We will certainly all reach the boneyard. But I doubt we will find anything out at that point! That is why people like to speculate.

I just thought of something. I believe it is called Anton's syndrome. In any case, the patient is completely blind but believes in complete sincerity that he/she sees perfectly. Nevertheless...he/she IS blind and sees nothing except within his/her head.
