"I'll give you Yasin - but that isn't much is it?" Not if you consider the first attempt to bring down the WTC "not much". Not if you consider six dead and 1,040 wounded "not much".

"Yasin was recruited here, in the US, for terrorism." Actually he was born here when his father was a grad student. He was raised in Iraq though and entered the US the second time in the early 1990's.

"I haven't actually seen proof that he was working for the Iraqi government. " We have documents found after the fact and we have the report of an ABC reporter to that effect from 1994. I'm sure this doesn't constitute proof for you, but seriously what would? Nothing IMO.

"they could have been incompetent, not known he was in the country, and also not known a bunch of assassins were in the country. Who knows? Do you?" Your scenario involving Iraqi internal security being so incompetent they don't know things that the foreign press reports defies common sense. We both know this.

" Either way Nidal doesn't cut very well for you. It's kind of stupid for you to bring him up." What is the assumption that Saddam's government was ignorant of all the terrorists living in their country? I think one pushing your line of argumentation would do well to avoid the "stupid" word.

"Look at Saudi Arabia- unless you think they actually DO know all about all the terrorists in their country fomenting plots against the US- and if you DO think that oppressive leaders long in power have this psychic grasp on their people, then why the heck did you get fixated on Iraq, when Saudi Arabia was clearly a much much much better target? hmmm?" I've asked you before to make a case for attacking Saudi Arabia. If you can do so, I'd support it.* But frankly all you've done is put out innuendo based on the nationality of OBL and most of the 911 hijackers.

*The ironic thing is if there were a strong case to attack SA, you'd oppose it. We both know that.

"You try so hard to make Iraq into this danger to America, when it's quite clear that many of the other countries in the ME have much more tangible links to terror aimed at this country. "

I think the only other country that rivaled Iraq as a danger was Iran. I understand that we were engaged with Iraq already and needed to deal with it first. But Iran is a problem and we will have to deal with it one way or another.

As I've previsously pointed out this line of argument - that other countries are more dangerous - is insincere coming from someone who would oppose ANY military action against any other country.
