I think Vietnam was a tremendous victory of real Americans over the fear-mongering, war-loving nationalistic Americans that see foreign policy in terms appropriate to a schoolyard fight. We left Vietnam for the fine, beautiful, courageous people that live there to work out, and now, 30 years later, we're their friends again. No further "dominoes" fell, the world didn't end - all that happened was Americans and Vietnamese stopped dying in wholesale numbers, and the Vietnamese began trying to rebuild their shattered land.

Exactly what will happen when we leave Iraq.
