And even if we accept the Spanish flu scenario, health conditions in 1918 were far worse in most of the world than they are now. Many people lived in squalor; 17 million influenza deaths occurred in India, versus about half a million deaths in the U.S.

Fact is, it's reported that young healthy people were those who got whacked the most from Spanish flue. He seems to overlook this point to make a point. i.e talking baloney by all appearances.

Besides, we have lots more people in abject poverty now (in the world, besides the USA). No water and no nothing. The good doctor is talking out of his butt.
