It is unlikely that anyone who has not passed the Bar Exam* could ever be confirmed. I agree with you that attornies often have a deleterious effect on many things. I support the appointment of Originalists, I cannot see how a person who does not know the law and how to understand it when they read it could interpret our Constitution as our framers intended.

* Teddy Kennedy might not qualify, he may never have passed a bar.
