I've seen steaks going for $35/lb in one high end store. Just a few years ago the high end cuts were maybe $14.99/lb.

What kind of idiot shops in a high end store?
I just bought "Ranch Reserve" choice cuts T-Bones at $4.49 at Domicks

Anyone paying $35 lb for steaks is simply making too much money.
I also bought chicken legs at .69 lb
I also bought chicken breasts at .99 lb.
Pork chops at $2.49 a lb CENTER CUT with hardly any fat.

Now, if you want to bitch about those prices be my guest.
Then again if you shop at places that charge $35 lb then you have too much money.

Please send me some.
I can use it.

I apolgize for that rant but seriously I have NO sympathy foir anyone shopping where steaks are $35 lb.
Food is an absolute bargain
I know.
I worked in a grocery store for many many years in high schoold and college. I remember prioces vividly.

Whole chickens back then were .29 a lb. On sale now you can find them for .69 lb. BTW back then was 1971! Is chicken a bargain or what? Remember this add? "Pepsi cola value pack puts the nickel servicng back every serving that you poour costs a nickel not a penny more" . Pepsi in 1971 was .99 ON sale only, regulary $1.79 for an 8 pack. Bottles were WAY cheaper than cans back then. A six pack of cans was $1.49. Well guess what? I can (on sale) get a six pack of for about $2.00. Care to annulalize that inflation over 35 years for me? I can get a 30 pack of miller lite beer for $12 at Jewell. Heck that is probably a decrease in price. Round steak. I remember this price vividly. .99 (and that was ON SALE) not the regular price. On sale I just bought eye of round roast for $1.99.
Round steak on sale is $1.79 on occasion. Care to annualize that inflation for me?

Now as I said, if you have enough money to be able to buy (or ebven SHOP) at places charging $35/lb for steak, you have too much money dude.
