I think that the big picture goes a bit like this: The semiconductor companies are at or near bottom as far as pricing pressures go ( except for DRAM ). Stocks tend to be forward looking by about 6 month to a year, so that would explain why the stocks were relatively unhurt by the "surprisingly" low BTB. However, semiconductor equipment companies are just beginning a period or margin and sales pressures and therefore I believe the stocks of these companies still have more room to fall.
