07:20 GOOG Google: Prudential comments on AOL rumors (300.97 ) -Update-

Prudential comments on rumors that Google and Comcast are in talks with Time Warner (TWX) for a minority stake in AOL, specifically for access to the AOL portal. Details of the relationship between GOOG and CMCSA are uncertain; it was also reported that GOOG could make a bid for AOL on its own. It is not clear if these talks include AOL's 51.5 mln instant messenger user base, however, access to this entity could be a big benefit for GOOG, particularly in light of the MSN/YHOO instant messenger compatibility agreement, announced yesterday. Firm believes that an AOL portal/GOOG combination makes more strategic sense than an AOL/MSN combination, given the $300+ miln of revenues that AOL will generate for GOOG this year. Reits Overweight and $400 tgt on GOOG.
