I don't represent a Centrist party and see no need to draft a manifesto for your satisfaction. I have found that arguing with rightwingers and leftwingers about their positions and manifestos is futile, because they are too emotionally invested in those positions to credit another point of view even partially.

All those issues you mentioned - I am in favor of them. Seriously. How to achieve them in a balanced, sustainable way is the most important challenge for centrists.

Now I could sit here and play Grand Wizard and dictate solutions based on having absolute control of all the input factors and finances required to make them happen. But that's a waste of time - I ain't the Grand Wizard.

This thread is one way to "assess, judge, argue, and influence opinion". The steady drop in popularity for Bush and the left side of the Democratic party tells me we are already on the right track.

If you don't find the thread useful, my regrets. I do, and so do many others.

Let me know when you go to the "Just The Facts" thread or the "Impeach George Bush" thread and successfully change the mind of an ardent partisan poster. Seriously, post the exchange here because I would like to see it.

The very existence of this thread pissed off a bunch of people on the right and the left. That alone plus the 60 bookmarks and 4000+ posts tell me we are on the right track.

Passion in acts of futility is just spent emotion. And before you tell me that absent being a Grand Crusader the center can't prevail, look at the polls and tell me why the center is growing and partisan loyalties are headed south. Why aren't the PASSIONATE people with VALUES and ARGUMENTS building a lasting governing coalition?

The burden of proof is not on me, it's the people with the failed track record.
