MB, I still believe the tenets I and so few others on this thread have proposed regarding the continuation of the Information Age explosion will occur. However, it is disturbing to a tech permabull to see the last capacity overshoot lingering for many of the reasons you have detailed . I believed we'd be in better shape by now.
My question then is how this might play out longer term. Let's say the basis is somewhat lessened demand equating to 5-10% slower growth, but still growth, than the last move up. Also lets say the oversupply/overcapacity is due to too many players chasing the same pots of gold. This will create a poor tech investing environment for some time, and an inevitable shake-out (already occuring ).
What is your forecast for approximate duration of such an environment, and what does the world look like thereafter?
