Of course Finland never had any own royalty, the country is but 100 years old!!

For 600 years or so Finland was a province of Sweden with their king being the Swedish king until all of that ended 1814 when Russia took over and Sweden got Norway as compensation.

What those guys are very proud over - and correctly so - is how they fought off the Russians in WW II.

And then of course their recent Nokia driven successful economy.
