I voted for him because I thought he'd be better than Gore and Kerry. Bush is a politician first and foremost. And while many of us agree with many of his stated positions, he has dropped the ball in a number of areas. Spending, immigration, McCain-Feingold, WMD. The thought leaders I referred to are the top shapers of conservative political dialog in this country. Each has raised important objections to this nomination that can't be dismissed with a shrug of the shoulders and a "trust me."
