No, it wasn't abstract.

It was the current winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature,
Harold Pinter. Somehow the elites who determine those worthy
of such high acclaim saw fit to give this award to someone
who's only current claim to fame is his strident participation
in the America-bashing, Israel-slamming protests against the
liberation of Iraq. The odd thing is that Harold hasn't
written anything of consequence in nearly 4 decades.

The Nobel prizes, at least outside the scientific realm, have become a bad joke.
