Good point! France is a good example: French train, bus and other public services were disrupted after a call by unions for a nationwide strike today to demand higher wages and protest new labor laws that make it easier to fire workers.

STRIKES CRIPPLE FRANCE

The workers were protesting falling living standards and a new law which makes it easier for small firms to sack their staff.

ELMAT: The workers don't know that it is an end of an era. Practical people would be trying to find some else to do.
